Begin in Innsbruck, a world-renowned sports center with superb facilities, glorious trails, and Hapsburg palaces as lavish as wedding cakes. Kitzbuhel in summer is a walkers dream, with miles of well-kept paths that lead through mountain pastures, green forests, and the world's highest flower garden. We stop at traditional "Almshuts" where walkers have been welcomed for centuries, with food, drink, and shelter. Modern cable cars carry us over the snowy peaks and glaciers. "I have seen the Grand Canyon from many different angles. I have grown up in a state where the Canyon is the major attraction and the most widely published, photographed, hiked and visited destination. Yet, your guides truly 'gave' me the Canyon. Never have I been introduced to that much majesty and beauty by such caring individuals. Craig and Cub, our two guides, were just incredible. Steve and Cash, on our partner raft, were equally impressive. Without their practiced skills, in all areas, I would never have been able to so fully appreciate the beauty of the Grand Canyon. I hope to join you again. Western River is truly the Cadillac of river expeditions. With much gratitude..."
